The first panel discussion at our “Before Birth and Up Through Third Grade” forum was on leveraging public funding, a timely topic for the budget crunches most states, school districts, and individual programs are facing.
The conversation that started during that panel is continuing over in our online discussion space at earlyedforum.newamerica.net.
Pamela Harris, president and CEO of Mile High Montessori shares challenges and opportunities of blending state and federal funding streams. She says, “To manage the funding sources, decrease duplication of documents and ease the burden on families, Mile High Montessori has a centralized enrollment process, which is facilitated by two enrollment coordinators.”
Another forum member, grogie, writes about the importance of using the blending and braiding of funds as “an opportunity to create more integrated and inclusive classrooms.”
