Chhaya Kapadia

Senior Operations Lead, Technology & Democracy, New America

Chhaya Kapadia is the Senior Operations Lead for New America’s Technology & Democracy issue area.

Kapadia was the Chief of Staff for New America’s Open Technology Institute, where she guided OTI’s strategic direction, management, staffing, and funding in service of a world where all communities can have access to digital technologies and their benefits. As an advocate, she focuses on issues ranging from broadband access and affordability to the different facets of privacy online, She served as OTI’s interim director throughout 2022.

Kapadia joined New America after a lengthy history as a nonprofit professional, including as the COO and Events Director at Future of Music Coalition.
