740 15th St NW #900
Washington, D.C. 20005 - 9AM – 3PM EDT
Please join us for an invitation-only, off-the-record conversation to discuss ways to leverage technology in order to increase community resilience and prevent violent extremist radicalization online. This meeting will bring together academics and representatives from both community organizations and the U.S. government to discuss this important issue.
As the recently released, “Strategic Implementation Plan for Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States” points out, the Internet has become an increasingly potent element in radicalization to violence which enables violent extremists abroad to directly community with target audiences in the United States. Therefore, the SIP calls for the creation of a supporting strategy for countering and preventing violent extremist radicalization online and leveraging technology to empower communities.
Lunch will be provided. A conference call line will be available for out-of-town participants.
