[ONLINE] – Challenges and Opportunities for BIPOC Public Interest Technology (PIT) Entrepreneurs

The University of Michigan’s Public Interest Technology Knowledge Network (UM PIT-KN) Team, in partnership with the #BlackTechFutures Research Institute and New America’s Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN), are excited to present the findings of their research aimed at informing discussions and learning regarding career pathways into the field of PIT, with a focus on BIPOC PIT Entrepreneurs.
Panelists representing various perspectives in public interest technology ecosystem will provide an overview of what a “PIT Entrepreneur” is, discuss the challenges faced by BIPOC PIT Entrepreneurs, offer a student perspective of participation in a PIT-focused experiential learning course, and gather feedback from panelists and attendees on pathways to support BIPOC PIT entrepreneurs.
