[ONLINE] – Care for Caregivers: A Virtual Community Town Hall
- Virtual
- 11AM – 12PM EDT
Please note this event will be taking place at 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM CT / 12:00 – 1:00 PM ET.
Caregiving is the essential work that allows the entire economy to run, but, for too long, caregivers have not been given the support they need. As the pandemic continues, the strain on caregivers is more evident than ever. Those caring for young children, elderly or disabled family members are often stretched thin with little financial support to compensate them for this essential, but grueling work. In partnership with The Illinois Cost of Living Refund Coalition, New America Chicago is co-sponsoring a town hall on this important issue. Hosted by Economic Security for Illinois, the virtual townhall will include stories from Illinois caregivers and perspectives from community leaders on the impact of unpaid caregiving.
