The 10-year anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq is upon us this month. As we contemplate the consequences of that war, along with the current state of Iraq’s government, economy, and above all, security, we are pleased to invite you to join an off-the-record background briefing with former Iraqi national security advisor Mowaffaq Rubaie.

Rubaie became a part of the 25-member Iraqi Governing Council appointed by the Coalition Provisional Authority following the fall of Saddam Hussain in July 2003, and became the National Security Advisor in April 2004. He held this post for its entire 5-year term, and then became a Member of Parliament in April 2009, where he remained until Parliament was dissolved in March 2010. Rubaie is in a unique position to give us his account of Iraq’s tumultuous journey over the past ten years.

We sincerely hope you can join us for this important discussion.
