New America's Cybersecurity Initiative at Freedom Online Coalition

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - Cybersecurity Head of Research and Director of the Global Cybersecurity Norms and Resilience Project, Tim Maurer, is in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia this week for the Freedom Online Coalition's fifth annual conference.

Mr. Maurer, who is part of the Freedom Online Coalition's Working Group 1 - An Internet Free and Secure, is delivering a presentation based on his CSIRT Basics for Policy Makers paper that will touch on the history and evolution of CSIRTs. The presentation is designed to examine the policy implications of different institutional models, illuminate the gap between the technical and policy communities, and explore lessons learned from the humanitarian field.
