Brandon Stout
Air Force IDE Fellow
Major Brandon Stout is a Department of the Air Force National Defense Fellow in New America’s Federal Executive program. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2012. He has served over 13 years on active duty and has held a variety of positions in Air Force Contracting.
In his most recent assignment, Major Stout served as the functional area manager for the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Contracting at the Pentagon. In this role, he directed his career field’s workforce sourcing to fulfill global Combatant Commander requirements and implemented Operational Contract Support policy as a joint warfighting capability. Additionally, he served as the Commander of the 332nd Expeditionary Contracting Squadron in Southwest Asia.
Major Stout has contracting experience in operational, major weapons systems, enterprise, and research, development, test, and evaluation programs, and has deployed in support of Operation INHERENT RESOLVE and with Special Operations Joint Task Force – Afghanistan in support of Operation FREEDOM’S SENTINEL. He earned his Master of Business Administration from Trident University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin.
