In this joint filing, OTI and other think tanks recommend that the FCC increase the utility of the 60-64 GHz unlicensed band by permitting airborne radar devices to operate near ground level. Allowing field disturbance sensors to operate on delivery drones and other near ground devices at very low altitudes will benefit consumers. More generally, the FCC should seek a technical arrangement that permits the largest number of uses of this band while also protecting the federal interest in the Earth Exploration Satellite Service.
