Tech jobs are skyrocketing, and today's students need to be prepared to fill those roles. Youth apprenticeship connects classroom and workplace learning to create work-ready graduates.

In this session chaired by the U.S. Department of Labor National Office of Apprenticeship, nationally-recognized tech and apprenticeship experts will share the benefits of apprenticeship pathways, including pre-apprenticeship and youth apprenticeship, for high school students interested in pursuing tech careers. These pathways are especially critical in underserved communities, where there are limited opportunities to gain career exposure and digital literacy at early ages, thus delaying the individuals’ long-term benefits from pursuing a successful tech-related career. Youth apprenticeship programs also benefit employers by providing access to tech talent through partnerships with high schools, mitigating the risk of hiring entry-level employees without the assistance of the school system. Panelists include representatives of apprenticeship leaders and intermediaries that work closely with school systems.

Speakers include:
Kimberly Hauge
Program Analyst, USDOL Office of Apprenticeship

Katie Adams
Senior Director, Safal Partners – a USDOL National Industry Intermediary for Tech Apprenticeship
