Adele Barzelay

Adele Barzelay is a Non-Resident Fellow and Counsel within the Legal Operations Unit at the World Bank. Adele advises on policy and legal issues related to data and digital development across the World Bank's global operational and analytical portfolio. Adele is a co-author of the World Development Report 2021, Data for Better Lives, and has co-led the development of several regional and global reports and advisory engagements on data governance, data regulation and digital economy development. Prior to joining the Bank, Adele worked in international law and human rights in London and political risk in Washington, D.C. She has published guidance for companies on approaching human rights risks in their operations. She is admitted to the New York Bar.
