Founder, Tech Congress
At a time when tech is affecting every issue before Congress, it is more important than ever for lawmakers to understand the forces fundamentally reshaping our society. From automation and artificial intelligence to disinformation and election security, Congress needs support from tech experts to confront the problems of the 21st century.
If you’re a computer scientist, engineer, or other technologist looking to apply your skills to some of the biggest challenges facing our country, TechCongress wants to hear from you. Now through August 19, we’re recruiting our 2020 class of Congressional Innovation Fellows. This is a unique opportunity to use your talents and training to help bridge the divide of knowledge and experience between Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C.
Apply for the 2020 Congressional Innovation Fellowship!
Over the past four years, TechCongress has sent 23 technologists to Capitol Hill. They’ve led investigations, organized committee hearings, and had more than one bill signed into law. Several TechCongress alumni now serve in senior staff roles, and there are serious conversations underway about restarting the long-shuttered Office of Technology Assessment. In 2019, fellows averaged seven offers from Congressional offices during their placement search, nearly double the number from 2018.
As Congress continues to grapple with technology’s impact, TechCongress fellows are helping key policymakers understand the issues and make informed decisions.
