Save the Date: Lifting the Barriers to Paid Family and Medical Leave for Men in the United States
On December 4, New America’s Better Life Lab will host a live event and release a major new report on men, women and paid family and medical leave. Drawing on data from a new nationally representative survey, as well as the compelling insights and stories of intimate focus group discussions, the event will highlight the report's key findings on men's experiences with caregiving and needing time away from work to care for loved ones, as well how those experiences are shaped by attitudes and beliefs, economic pressures, workplace practices, policies and cultural factors. A panel of caregiving men and experts will consider how these new findings are likely to influence the growing movement for public paid family and medical leave policies at the state and national levels.
This event will run from 9:30 AM to 11 AM EST on December 4th at New America. Please save the date and expect to receive more details in the coming days. We look forward to having you in attendance!
