Shaena Korby

Senior Director, Finance

Shaena Korby (Glier) is the Senior Director of Finance at New America, where she oversees the organization’s accounting operations, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and grants management functions. Korby joined the organization in 2017, bringing with her an extensive background in nonprofit financial management.

Korby’s career in the nonprofit sector began in 2008 at World Relief, an international aid and development agency operating in over ten U.S. states and roughly 14 countries around the world. Since then, Korby has proven adept at driving both financial strategy and day-to-day operational finance within complex, mission-driven organizations.

During her tenure at World Relief, Korby served on a short-term assignment in Africa and managed multiple facets of the HQ finance department, ranging from corporate accounting to grants management and financial planning and analysis. Korby was instrumental in driving the design and implementation of a custom-built enterprise resource-planning system, achieving significant improvements in the organization’s fiscal record management and knowledge-sharing database.

Korby is a proud Hokie having earned her B.S. in economics from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech.
