Roselyn Miller Champion, as New America CA’s senior policy analyst, researched and reported on the intersection of social policy, economic equity, and families. She paired human-centered research and policy analysis with storytelling to ensure those most impacted by inequity have access to the information most relevant to their lives. She also helped connect worker and resident voice to larger policy and structural change.
Miller has also been a member of the Better Life Lab team, where she tracked policies that help families and individuals live balanced and healthy lives—paid family leave, high-quality and affordable care, workforce training, and best practices for the evolving workplace.
Prior to joining New America, she coordinated community-based programs with local government in California. She partnered with the Spanish-speaking immigrant community to convene residents and public officials on initiatives related to community engagement, education, and health and wellness. She holds a BA in anthropology from Stanford University, where she studied cultural ethnography and human-centered design research methods, focusing research on how private and public funding structures impact the cultural and economic security of historically marginalized communities.
