Manuela Ekowo

Manuela Ekowo was a policy analyst with the Education Policy program at New America. She provided research and analysis on policies related to higher education including innovations in higher education delivery, the use of technology, open educational resources (OER), and ensuring equitable outcomes for underrepresented students. In addition, Ekowo helped lead the program's public opinion efforts to capture American sentiment on various aspects of higher education.

As a contributing columnist for EdSurge, Ekowo wrote on how technology can foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in colleges and universities. Her writing has also been featured in such media outlets as Pacific Standard, The EvoLLLution, Washington Examiner, Real Clear Education, and The American Youth Policy Forum.

Prior to joining New America, Ekowo worked at the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP). Ekowo holds a bachelor's degree in government and legal studies from Bowdoin College.
