Lisa D. Watson was the Human Resources Director at New America. She previously served as Deputy Director. Ms. Watson has over 20 years of management experience, with 15 of those being in the area of Human Resources. She has worked in both the public and private sectors of employment, for both small and large organizations. Prior to New America, she served as assistant deputy director of employment services at the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. Additionally, she has more than 8 years of experience teaching English as an adjunct professor at Clarke State Community College.
Ms. Watson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature, with a minor in Mathematics, from Capital University. In 2006, she received her Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School, with concentrations in both Labor & Employment Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. While in law school, she achieved honors in Moot Court Competition and was inducted into the Order of the Barrister upon graduation. She is continuing her education, pursuing a Master of Business Administration from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.
