Dr. Julia R. DeCook is an Assistant Professor of Advocacy and Social Change in the School of Communication at Loyola University Chicago. Her work examines online hate groups’ responses to deplatforming and censorship to understand how online hate persists despite attempts to thwart it. In addition, DeCook researches race and gender in online spaces, disinformation, and conspiracy theories.
