Ben Barrett was a policy analyst with the Education Policy program at New America, where he was a member of the higher education team. His work focused on student loans, federal accountability and state funding. Prior to joining New America, he worked for the Podesta Group, where he supported the firm's business development and higher education sectors. Ben also previously interned with the U.S. Department of Education and the Texas House of Representatives.
He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a dual degree in Plan II Honors and Government.
