Anne Hyslop

Policy Analyst, Education Policy Program

Anne Hyslop was a policy analyst with New America’s Education Policy Program. She provided research and analysis on school accountability, ESEA waivers and reauthorization, education data, and alignment between early childhood, K–12, and higher education policy. Before joining New America, she worked as a policy analyst at Education Sector, where she published reports on states’ efforts to collect, distribute, and hold high schools accountable for college and career readiness and student outcomes.

Hyslop graduated from Georgetown University with a master's degree in public policy, concentrating in education, social, and family policy. Prior to graduate school, she worked in early childhood education policy for the governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation. In these roles, she helped develop and manage Virginia’s Quality Rating and Improvement System and other efforts to promote school readiness and access to high-quality preschool. She holds a bachelor's degree in government from the College of William and Mary.
