Andrew Bolden

Andrew Bolden, National Fellow, spent his fellowship year developing a new musical about NSA surveillance, anchored by the Edward Snowden narrative and centered on themes of privacy, power, and patriotism. Bolden's autobiographical essay detailing his experience as an undergraduate at the fundamentalist Bob Jones University was included in BJU and Me: Queer Voices from the World's Most Christian University, published in 2022 by the University of Georgia Press. Bolden holds master’s degrees from Converse University and Emory University; he continues to compose music for the theatre and the church while working as a conductor and vocal coach.
