Anand Gopal

Fellow, International Security Program

Anand Gopal is a fellow with the International Security Program at New America. He studies insurgency in the Middle East and South Asia, and has covered Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan for the Atlantic, Harpers, and other publications. He is the author of No Good Men Among the Living: America, the Taliban, and the War Through Afghan Eyes, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award, and winner of the Ridenhour Prize for Journalism. He is completing his doctorate in network analysis and political violence at Columbia University.
