Abhilash Rajan is the Senior Director of Technology, Systems, and Facility Operations at New America. A passionate technologist with a special interest in the intersection of science, technology, and public policy, Rajan has been an integral part of the organization’s technological advancements since he joined in December 2017.
With a career in the nonprofit sector dating back to 2011, Rajan’s passion for technology and its application to complex problem-solving is evident. In his current role, Rajan oversees the technological strategy of the organization, ensuring it aligns with and advances New America’s mission.
Rajan has a notable track record of successfully implementing and managing complex IT projects, managing data security, and integrating emerging technologies into operations. He applies his knowledge of technology and its applications to public policy to support New America’s work.

Rajan is an ardent science and technology enthusiast, often engaging in personal projects to quench his intellectual curiosity. He also enjoys exploring the diverse culinary scene of Washington, DC, and, as a certified scuba diver, spends his leisure time discovering the underwater world.
