Maxine Clark, Mona Mourshed, and Sally Osberg Join New America’s Board of Directors

Washington, D.C.—New America is pleased to welcome three new members to New America’s board of directors. Maxine Clark, founder of the Build-A-Bear Workshop and president of the Clark-Fox Family Foundation; Mona Mourshed, partner at McKinsey and lead of its global social-responsibility agenda; and Sally Osberg, former president and CEO of the Skoll Foundation, were unanimously approved today by New America’s board of directors.

Maxine Clark is a visionary retail leader who combines an entrepreneurial spirit and big ideas for renewing American communities, improving K-12 public education, and encouraging women and minority entrepreneurs. As co-founder and CEO of the Clark-Fox Family Foundation, Clark works across sectors to support the economic development of the St. Louis area.

Mona Mourshed is a distinguished leader in social responsibility, overseeing McKinsey’s efforts for positive social impact by tackling global challenges and giving back to communities. Combining her expertise in education, the public sector, and the social sector, Mourshed also leads Generation and McKinsey.org—nonprofits that address youth unemployment and complex social challenges.

Sally Osberg is the foremost expert on social entrepreneurship, a model of developing, building, and scaling solutions to bring about revolutionary change. Osberg was the first president of the Skoll Foundation and led it for 17 years, spearheading its support of ventures led by social entrepreneurs around the world.
