The Future of Property Rights Program first presented our report, "Blockchain and Property in 2018: At the End of the Beginning," at the 2018 World Bank Land and Poverty Conference in Washington, DC. The original version can still be accessed here.

We are excited to announce the inclusion of an updated version in Innovations, a journal about entrepreneurial solutions to global challenges, published by MIT Press.

In our revised report, we:

  • Omit a number of case studies in order to better emphasize five different issues and impacts stemming from the interaction of blockchain and land.
  • Adjust our "Framework for Blockchain-Registry Adoption" to account for the differences between "tokenized shares" and the "tokenization of property rights."
  • Clarify a few examples of blockchain-registry adoption.

The most recent version can be downloaded here.
