Trump’s budget may make it harder for many students to pay for college

Stephen Burd was quoted by MarketWatch regarding the uncertain future of Pell Grants under the budget proposal submitted by President Trump:

The budget also appears to target a student aid program that benefits a lot of low-income students. Based on what we know from the proposal, the future of the Pell Grant is a bit uncertain, though the budget doesn’t immediately eliminate any funding for it, said Stephen Burd, a senior policy analyst at New America, Washington, D.C.-based think tank.
“This might make it look like the administration is more generous than it’s going to be,” Burd said.
