How to balance digital devices and childhood development

“Tap, Click & Read: Growing Readers in a World of Screens,” by Lisa Gurensey and Michael Levine, now takes its place on this bookshelf. It looks at how parents, caregivers and teachers can navigate digital media devices, using them to enhance learning. 

The Deseret News spoke with both authors by phone. Gurensey is director of the Early Education Initiative at New America, and Levine the director of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Street Workshop. This interview as been edited for clarity and length.
