Corinthian’s collapse heightens calls for loan forgiveness

Just a year ago, the company was a giant in the for-profit college industry. But the conclusion of its drawn-out collapse is less telling as a harbinger of things to come for the sector than “just the final blow for a company that for all intents and purposes stopped being viable months ago,” said Ben Miller, the higher education research director for the New America Foundation’s Education Policy Program, calling the closures “an inevitable and necessary outcome.
