Family Self-Sufficiency Program Roundtable

Next Steps in Building a Learning and Reform Agenda
Event

The New America Foundation invites you to join an invitation-only roundtable at our office in Washington, D.C. on October 25th to discuss the Family Self-Sufficiency Program.

Despite modest funding and attention from policymakers, the FSS program has potential to significantly increase its impact if implemented at a broader scale. Given the program’s combination of an earnings incentive, supportive case management, and a meaningful asset building opportunity, the FSS framework holds much promise.

Innovative FSS programs are taking shape across the country providing practitioners and policymakers with valuable lessons on the program’s impact and scalability. However, a number of obstacles impede effective program administration and delivery. Understanding current program limitations can serve as a foundation for sharpening policy reform efforts.

This convening will be an opportunity for a select group of stakeholders to share information on the program, learn about current developments in the field and on the policy front, and explore building a learning and policy agenda which can magnify the impact of the program and offer a model for related interventions.

This event is invitation only. Please email Hannah Emple emple@newamerica.net to reserve your spot. If you have a colleague who would also like to attend, please contact us to ensure we can accommodate them.

The roundtable is from 8:30 am to 12:30pm with an informal networking lunch to follow. A detailed agenda for the roundtable is forthcoming.
