National Fellows Alumni:

Since New America’s founding in 1999, the Fellows Program has had the honor of awarding more than 200 fellowships to talented journalists, academics, policymakers, and other individuals pursuing public-minded projects.

Our program has supported incredible work and helped to launch dozens of careers. Among other projects, our fellowships have enabled the publication of more than 100 books, including more than 30 by first-time authors. Eleven of these books have gone on to become New York Times-bestsellers, and several have gone on to become finalists for the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and the National Book Critics Circle Award. Further, three New America National Fellows, Katherine Boo, Lauren Redniss, and Nikole Hannah-Jones, have gone on to become MacArthur 'Genius' Fellows.

We are proud of our robust alumni roster, which is organized below by class year.
